Woodland Intimacy is a figurative series based on the American beech tree. These trees have smooth, skin-like bark and shapes begging to be viewed as human forms. Their bark is a favorite for people to carve their initials or declarations of love. Sometimes the messages and shapes morph into a combined intimacy. From a distance these trees are very stately, and yet, when one gets closer their sensuality and the marks of the carvers are revealed giving each tree its own special allure.
